Mandy Jackson
I was brought up within ear-shot of the centre court of the 'All England Club' in Wimbledon, south-west London. There I pursued an early career in industrial graphics, but after moving to Cornwall with my husband in 1990 I concentrated on creating craft pieces for my company ‘Mandy’s Decorative Effects’. This has now transformed, with a wider range of products, into the on-line shop ‘Mandy’s House’. The pieces I produce for Mandy’s House take their inspiration from the beautiful coastal countryside that surrounds the town of St.Ives in the west of Cornwall. I am also inspired by the diversity of wildlife that visits my garden in St. Ives, their arrivals helping to point out the passing seasons of the year. My final creative stimulus and constant companion is Loki, my pedigree maine coon cat. The commissions I have undertaken include the illustration of my husband's book on the prehistory of the far west of Cornwall 'Ancient Stones of Kernow' and the design for the childrens’ paddling pool in Wimbledon Park London, where I played as a child.
